I just got back from my appointment with the specialist about my knee issue. After checking out my x-ray results and other things he did….it turns out I’m having IT band issues. I have read about this in the past and now I guess I am going through it. The worst thing about it is that I can’t run the P.F.Changs Full marathon three weeks away. Oh gosh this hurts even more to write it down on my blog. It makes it official. I am not running the full marathon. Ugh. I have been training for months, planning for months and wanting this for over a year. I knew that going to my appointment today I might not get the best news but when I was talking to the Dr. it felt worse than I imagined. He told me I need to reduce my mileage and will need physical therapy. I have to get more x-rays done and an MRI for something else going on. He said that part isn’t a big deal but he wants to check it out to make sure. He was more concerned about the IT band issue.

If any of you have had IT Band issues can you tell me how long it took to get back to normal? Also did you go through physical therapy?
